He is originally from the municipality of Santa Cruz in the department of Lempira where he has a long and distinguished history of public service. His calling for service has led him to become a professional in health care and currently works as a supervisor for the Secretary of Health in his native city. The principal function of his job is to coordinate the daily activities of the health staff which includes general doctors, dentists, nurses, health promoters and other staff in order to assure the well being of the community members.

His desire for community service led him to become city mayor at one point. During his administration he planned, developed and implemented innovative economic development projects. He also supervised the development of assuring a reliable water supply for of a large portion of the city. During his service as mayor he also took electricity to rural villages, built and opened health centers and dental services, a school, delivered supplies to schools and much more. Likewise, his work as a mayor permitted him to undertake public meetings in order to demonstrate the importance of protecting vital watersheds which are vital assets to the local economy.

Edman shares ample experience in leadership in acquiring resources, managing teams, governmental relationships, developing and planning project campaigns and in building and administering development programs.
